I had been thinking along the lines of other camera drones like the Mini 4 Pro that have some form of compatibility, but right now it’s probably unlikely since it would cut into sales of NEO.Not sure if the discussion was here or over in the Neo forum, but the thinking was that the FPV wouldn't be possible with the Flip because of the design with how the arms fold and flying upside down might close up the arms.
That could be an issue, but most of the FPV videos I see the pilot is usually flying at a lower height than you would typically fly if you were flying for video or photos. It doesn't seem like the flip has enough power to be an FPV. Mine gets batted around by the wind too much.
Because they want to avoid market cannibalization, is my guess. The Mini 4 Pro and other camera drones are FPV compatible, so why not the Flip?
I likely will be trying out FPV with my NEO in the spring. There's a few replies on the DJI forum that suggests the craft lacks the hardware to fly FPV, additionally it lacks the sensors I'd want, given the fragility of that craft. You want cheap FPV... go NEO! I ordered a Refurb from DJI for $160US.
Agreed.Because they want to avoid market cannibalization, is my guess.

The reason I was asking is that many other camera drones like the Mini 4 Pro and even the Mavic 3 Pro can be flown FPV just not like a true FPV drone. I’m sure it would be possible for DJI to make the Flip compatible with Goggles if they wanted too.
I agree, but I guess since they have previously added support for other predominantly camera drones, it has led to many people asking/requesting support for FPV on the Flip. If I had a Flip, I am not sure I would want it to have FPV support anyway considering that the NEO is a much cheaper/more durable option."Wanted to" is far more complex and multifaceted than just the technical challenge, which might be utterly trivial.
As just a possible example, suppose doing so results in support contact projections that necessitate hiring an additional employee to answer calls, chat requests, etc.?
With the Neo and Mini 3 Pro supported on various goggles, I can see them deciding it's just not worth adding it to the support matrix. There are already so many options for FPV with DJI drones.
