Do you think the Flip will be FPV compatible?

The Mini 4 Pro and other camera drones are FPV compatible, so why not the Flip? Maybe not with the FPV3 controller and manual control but with the MC3 it seems doable.

Chris

Only reason I can see not to is incremental support costs, which could be an issue at the Flip price point.

Your other post in another similar thread also made me think that if there was FPV compatibility even if limited, it would cut into NEO sales since they overlap a lot.

Not sure if the discussion was here or over in the Neo forum, but the thinking was that the FPV wouldn't be possible with the Flip because of the design with how the arms fold and flying upside down might close up the arms.

I had been thinking along the lines of other camera drones like the Mini 4 Pro that have some form of compatibility, but right now it’s probably unlikely since it would cut into sales of NEO.

It doesn't seem like the flip has enough power to be an FPV. Mine gets batted around by the wind too much.

That could be an issue, but most of the FPV videos I see the pilot is usually flying at a lower height than you would typically fly if you were flying for video or photos.

There's a few replies on the DJI forum that suggests the craft lacks the hardware to fly FPV, additionally it lacks the sensors I'd want, given the fragility of that craft. You want cheap FPV... go NEO! I ordered a Refurb from DJI for $160US.

I likely will be trying out FPV with my NEO in the spring.

The reason I was asking is that many other camera drones like the Mini 4 Pro and even the Mavic 3 Pro can be flown FPV just not like a true FPV drone. I’m sure it would be possible for DJI to make the Flip compatible with Goggles if they wanted too.

"Wanted to" is far more complex and multifaceted than just the technical challenge, which might be utterly trivial.

As just a possible example, suppose doing so results in support contact projections that necessitate hiring an additional employee to answer calls, chat requests, etc.?

With the Neo and Mini 3 Pro supported on various goggles, I can see them deciding it's just not worth adding it to the support matrix. There are already so many options for FPV with DJI drones.

I agree, but I guess since they have previously added support for other predominantly camera drones, it has led to many people asking/requesting support for FPV on the Flip. If I had a Flip, I am not sure I would want it to have FPV support anyway considering that the NEO is a much cheaper/more durable option.

I was able to get the flip working with Dji goggles 1 and the rc-n3 controller allowing the flip to work with the fpv goggles 1 based on iOS screen mirroring. This did not involve linking the rc-n3 controller to the goggles.
