Hi all, I just got the new flip, and I'm having a problem with the RC-N3 controller. The gimbal control dial does not spring back to the center position, leading it to beep when turning on and the gimbal slowly moving down. I submitted an exchange request 12 hours ago, and I am still waiting for a shipping label.

That sounds like you have a defective RC-N3 controller. On my RC-N3 controller which I use with my NEO the gimbal wheel definitely springs back. DJI should get you sorted out quickly. In the meantime you can control your Flip with your cell phone but you will be limited in range to a max of 50m but it is usually much less than that or you can use the pre-programmed flight modes on the drone itself.
It's a good idea not to fly over water with the phone only because if you lose connection you will have trouble getting the drone back unless you can somehow get close to the drone to re-establish a connection.
