well it is with some sadness, that as a long time fan boy of the DJI brand ,that i find myself totally underwhelmed by the Flip
after looking at the specs and the user manual , why DJI have in there wisdom ,released this drone into their line up,is almost like they are clearing the parts bin from previous models
it does not really take up the mantle of the Mini series of sub 250g drones in its abilities, its more like a mark 2 version of the Neo and as someone who already owns both the Mini 4 pro and the Neo ,for me the Flip does not impress enough for me to feel the desire to own one
of course these are just my personal views ,but i felt that i had to air them on this forum

take care and happy flying to all OMM

Hello from the Crossroads of America in central Indiana oldmanmavic.

Your input is noted. (y)

I'm not sure if I'm ready to purchase just yet. I'm happy with the MA2 & NEO so far. :)

Welcome to the FLIP Forum. 🙃

I think it’s more of a competitor to the Hover Air X1 Pro to prevent them from gaining a foothold in that segment of the market.

Well as someone who bought it have to disagree. Camera is great flies well can get about 3 miles out and back on a battery charge. Can use with no controller. Only downside is if it's really windy it's a little bouncy. Bit handles light wind fine. As a Mavic 2 owner I was happy with this purchase. U can fold it up and stick in sweater pocket and take on a trip. All in all for price and all the goodies I am pleased

@OrionsQwest, welcome to the forum and happy to see you over here.

I like the Flip over the Neo when I want to take high quality RAW photos and want the features of the Neo. I like the Neo when I just want something quick to share on social media (i.e. showing the day-over-day melting of snow on my property) and I don't care too much about IQ.

Well I can see where you are coming from having had a Spark, mini 3 pro and a neo and flown them all badly but.....although the mini pros are better drones ,they are not necessary as fun as the Neos due to its price point and versatility .
The Flip is a great value drone with the pros camara, and will bounce and fold better on impact. .Not overly impressed with the way it behaves in wind sadly.Trouble is why spend a fortune on a drone that you rarely fly due to how difficult it is to find suitable sites. Also like the Neo its easy to despise a drone but if its the one you fly most and only what you can afford to pay surely thats the most importent thing.Yes if you have the mini4 pro why would you but lets not knock this little drone.

I don't have a Flip but I find it to be an interesting drone since it can do everything the NEO can except FPV and has the photo quality of the Mini 4 Pro. Part of me has considered selling my Mini 3 pro and replacing it with the Flip but the reported problems in the wind has made me think twice. If only it had better wind resistance it could be a worthy replacement for my Mini 3 Pro.
